[NTLUG:Discuss] Issue with cups clearing pring que.

I recently installed a linksys PSU4 print server/switch on the network to 
house the print server duties for my home network so my machine doesn't have 
to run 100% of the time. well in redoing the config of the printer within 
cups i have an issue when i print a document. the document prints out of the 
printer (connected to the linksys server) without issue. but the document 
never clears the "jobs" within cups. this leaves me unable to print the next 
document until i delete that first job from the print que.

System is a Kubuntu 7.10 install 
linksys PSUS4 print server
brother hl2140 laser printer
