Are the ram modules them same speed , PC2700 , PC3200 etc .?
Putting a PC3200 with a PC4000 will cause the PC 4000 to run at 3200 speed ,
as before heat will kill memory as well , do a mem97 mem test and see if
maybe the modules or module has a bad memory cell .
Also and I hate to say this but ESD is known to cause random problems as
well and can seem as though hardware is failing .
