[NTLUG:Discuss] software suspend and linux

Has anyone tested ( good or bad ) the software suspend stuff that 
work with Linux? 

There is a /usr/src/linux/Documentation/power/swsusp.txt
doument in the 2.6.4 kernel source that mentions this a 
bit. I found a softare suspend V2.0 out on source forge. 

Just wanted to know if anyone had any real world experience 
with it. 

My linux box is on 24/7... but it's fairly noisy and hot. 
I wouldn't mind it shutting down / suspending if it would 
come back up fairly quickly. 

Any info would be appreciated.
