I've pretty well decided that wireless is going to be the way to go.  
I'm estimating that plenum- or riser-rated cable is, at something on 
the order of $100-$150/box, is going to be wildly expensive.  $200 
for a patch panel, plus associated bits and pieces (not to mention 
$30-$50 for a punchdown tool and blade).  Even on ebay, after 
shipping it doesn't get a whole lot cheaper.  And that's without even 
considering holes in my ceiling, which I haven't even looked at 
doing properly yet.  Looks like my answer, just based on sheer 
price, is going to be 802.11x.

Something with that kind of performance wouldn't necessarily be a 
bad thing, and since I'm only intending on buying one card and one 
AP, it's not a huge crisis that the individual bits are a little on the 
not-cheap side. I'm guessing the AP1000 is the AP?  What's the 
card?  I need PCI, not PCMCIA.
