That's odd. As soon as you hit the little mail icon in the lower left or
select mail from the Window dropdown menu in the taskbar, an email
wizard should appear.
Mozilla's mail preferences are more complicated than they should be. For
instance, to change preferences for individual mail users and add stuff
like your SMTP server, you have to be in the Mail app AND select the
Mail & Newsgroups setting from the Edit menu. This particular mail
preferences set is separate from a different set of Mail & Newsgroups
options that can be found via the Preferences option in the Edit menu
(which is where it sounds like you were looking). Some really bad UI
design on Mozilla's part.
