Have you been able to redirect output straight to the printer device??
I have not tried my Epson C80 via USB (going parallel right now)... so
I'm not sure if redirecting to the device works correctly as it does
with the parallel port (I'm also using SuSE 7.3 and SuSE 8.0 presently).
