I am aware of no relevant security problems with the RH build
of the sendmail package at 8.9.3, but see:

Indeed Red Hat has updated the package -- and extended
function:  LDAP and SSL support are in the specfile -- but
note that there are some challenging initscript changes to
surmount -- RH 7.1's 2.4 kernel and glibc performance and
security make it worth the upgrade to the full RH 7.1.
