OK.. I give up. I'm going QMAIL.

Sendmail is just TOO crappy and RH is not that much better in MY opinion.

I just want take this opportunity to plug Slackware. If a security bug (like say in Sendmail) is discovered, there is a package that updates it. I also will say that PKGTOOL runs circles, squares, and hoola-hoops over RPM. Ninety percent of the time I am having to --nodeps RPMs to get them to do what I want. UG.

But I would still like to know about make errors and how to decipher them.

ok...let me start off by saying that Yes I know that QMAIL exists...BUT...*THIS* question is about Sendmail and Redhat.

I have search the RPMFIND site and I can only find RPMs for sendmail-8.9.3. Does Redhat not update the packages for their distro?

I would rather not have to compile it from scratch. Well, actually I've tried, and I'm banging my head entirely too frequently. (What does a Make error #2 mean? Where can one go to find a list of the make errors?)
