No, just beat up on perl :)
But seriously, I love C++, but perl 'disgusting'?  I think - 'disgustingly
practical' or 'disgustingly powerful' might be more apropos.  Perl is an
awesome language, very powerful, very practical and flexible.  Where perl
lacks (and where python shines btw) is in helping the programmer follow good
coding practices and style - there are just to many @#$@#$ ways to do
things!
Perl should not be compared to C++ as an equivalent language either.  Perl
is
great as an admin tool, text processor, and script language, C++ is great
for
large transactional and distributed apps.  The dev cycle for C++ is fairly
extended - the Perl cycle very brief. Blah, blah-blah, blah, blah....

Group hug, your language is ok too (whatever it may be)
