I seem to recall that you can do a similar thing with Red Hat control-panel
(from X Windows, open a shell (xterm), su root, if necessary, and do

# control-panel

)  -- at least in 4.2 -- don't know whether 6.0 continued control-panel.  If
not, I bet there is some way to do this with LinuxConf.
