If you has to file a FBAR with the US Treasury, you would find and even 
tighter strangle hold
     One can only file online (no paper filing)
     One must use the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader to file
I am beginning to wonder if it wouldn't be a (semi) good idea to buy a 
cheap laptop and load on acroread, and then just save it for the 
government filings?

Well, I just found some refurbished laptops (Window 7) online in the 
$150-$175 range ... cheaper than hiring a tax preparer, even if it only 
lasted one year.
