I think you'll find that all are really good.

I've been a big fan of Ubuntu/Kubuntu since 2007, when my HD crashed
while away on a trip and the only Linux installer I could come up
with was a Ubuntu CD.  At the time I was pleasantly surprised how
everything "just worked" with my notebook (especially wifi); since
then I've continually experienced a lot of "gee, it just works"
moments.  Kubuntu in particular has been a pleasure to use.

The *buntu's are all Debian-based.
