You have gotten my curiosity up, what kinds of electrical power changes
can disrupt Ethernet over power lines?
The typical house is wired with with 220V coming to the house and then that is
split into 110V halves. Without a bridge transformer connecting the two halves,
you can't get signals across the dividing line. That's the biggest issue I know
with Ethernet over power, although I don't know i that's the problem in Dennis'
case.
