Noted Oracle's drop of commercial OpenOffice and then their donation of
the source code to the Apache Foundation. Wondering what the hope is of
Libre and Open being able to share improvements any time in the near
future. The Oracle/Libre spitting match aside, what little I read was
that there are licensing conflicts between LGPL and Apache which are
going to be obstacles to true sharing of improvements. Is this a real
issue or just more spitting?
I wouldn't have any objection to using Libre except that I found
Novell's incarnation of Open to be buggy (spell check just didn't work,
neither did some form fields). I would hate to have to choose between
documented and undocumented features.
