Well, I ended up using the freenx client connecting to localhost. This
solution has proven to be quite stable for around a month now.

For a display resolution of 1280x720 at 60p, I had to resize the freenx
window to 1100x600. I just stuck the launch icon for freenx in the
middle of the host desktop.

Again, this is hooked up to a CRT based Sony 16x9 32" HD TV, through the
HDMI input. I'm using the DVI output of the Nvidia card. It actually
looks pretty good, all things considered, and appears to be quite stable...

For reference, here are the specs:

Dell Dimension 4400 (maybe 4500)
openSUSE 11.x
freenx server and client, current release
kde 4.2.2
pentium 4, 1.8ghz
1 gig memory
Nvidia FX5600 card, agp, 256meg

Thanks,

Monty
