[NTLUG:Discuss] k3b not recognizing blank DVD

I had that problem with my DVD drive a few months ago - it eventually
turned out that that it didn't like whatever flavor of DVD I was using
at the time (I forget whether it was +R, -R, +RW or whatever).  The box
that the drive came in claimed that it supported everything - and
subsequent tests under Windows showed that it really does - but
evidently something was tricking K3B into thinking that it couldn't.
But the symptoms were identical...it would claim that the disk wasn't blank.
