For a number of years I labored away on a Tcl/Tk app called CBB (one
of the first checkbook programs, well before GnuCash came on the
scene). And I use the term "labored" very literally here: The syntax
was odd (for this C/Perl programmer) and I found the Tcl part to be
very dense and difficult to maintain.

Personally, I would not waste time with Tcl/Tk again. There are so
many other languages out there with consistent syntax (or, in the case
of Perl, not-so-consistent syntax but a lot of module support).

And no, I really can't recount the horrors of Tcl I experienced,
because I've pretty much purged it from my mind.
