I have already noted iNotify but may not be able to use it for the
following reasons:
1. I am targeting SME server 7.4 which is based on CentOS 4.7 and I
don't think the kernel supports it without being patched. (I still have
to verify that)
2. I am deathly afraid of what Apple might do to me if I use any
function or feature that begins with the letter "i"
3. So far, I have not located a "bash" way of utilizing iNotify... so
far... I mean I saw an rpm package called inotify-tools, but it wasn't
for CentOS 4.7 and certainly not SME server. (BTW, a "yum list" reveals
no packages containing the word "notify" in the name... odds are good
that it's a negative option and justifies my assumption in reason #1.)
