[NTLUG:Discuss] IP-camera ~little off topic

The problem is to find out the IP address that is allocated to the
camera by the Time Warner DHCP server. That number will change from
time to time - and will almost certainly change when you turn the camera
off and on again.
But if you CAN find out the IP address right now - then you should be
able to reach it perfectly OK.
So - here's the question - how do your home network PC's find the IP
address of the camera?
If your PC knows the address - it could (for example) post it to some
kind of public server (email it to your gmail account once an hour for
example!) - then, when you get where you want to look at the video - you
look for the most recently posted IP address - and it's probably OK.
Not very convenient - but it should work.
