I can only give info on the last question
flash is NOT archival media. No media is truly archival unless you
follow the multi-copy multi-location rule
it is way more affordable to create multi-copies with dvds than to buy
multi 32GB flashdrives. also if your archive is contained on one unit
instead of a few discs, you risk loosing the whole thing with one
accident. I cannot deny the convenience of a 32GB drive, but I would
not choose either/or, I would use both discs and flash
