Greg, I may have unintentionally misled some, so let me see if I can
explain:  I do have a static IP through Verizon, but it's on a
business account (and, of course, the TOS isn't as restrictive as
residential).  You are correct in that a residential account will not
permit servers under Verizon's TOS.  

My apologies for muddying the waters.  I've gotten so spoiled by a
*real* DSL account that I forgot there are those still stuck with
residential service!

I suppose that's one of the advantages of a business account...get
your static IP, and you're pretty much on your own.  No filters, no
MSN, no blocked ports.  But you do pay more...I wonder, though, if the
cost of a business account with Verizon would be cost-comparable with
a residential Verizon account in combination with a non-Verizon ISP?

Something to consider...
