When using a PC based email client, there is no need for "gmail notifier",
you can use it if you want, but I'm quite sure it is not necessary. (Gmail
Notifier is an application that alerts you when you have new Gmail messages.
It displays an icon in your system tray to let you know if you have unread
Gmail messages.) Just enable pop or imap on your gmail account and follow
gmail's instructions for configuring your mail client to log onto the
server. There are no specific instructions for evolution but I'm sure that
if you pick one of the others, you'll be able to realize the proper
settings.
