Guys,
Have a weird problem I'm hoping that someone can spot
what I'm missing here (as this is quite frustrating!).
I've
installed VMWare-tools on a CentOS 5.1 system (used as a nameserver ) that
has been running fine for awhile (before the vmware-tools install).
Guess I shouldn't say 'fine' as the time-sync is way off.
I've
installed vmware-tools on another VM that's running on this same server -
and the time sync is working great! (between host and VM) - I've forgotten
what/how I set it up?!.....but on this nameserver install - it doesn't
work well.....and I have manually restart named (ala 'service named
restart') before it'll respond to outside digs.
I've set
"tools.syncTime = TRUE " in the .vmx file
I've
changed the vm's grub file to include "apm=off acpi=off noacpi
clock=pit"
I'm hesitant to change the /etc/vmware/config file on
the server - as it's working on one of the exisiting VMs (but not
others).
What am I missing? Any thoughts?
Thanks -
Dave
