Once we get past a problem with getting a part from Dell we will
announce the release of the Boy Scouts Open Source Website. We've been
waiting 10 days for a stupid ribbon cable!! After we get the cable the
system should be ready in 2-3 days.

One aspect of the website is an E-Learning section dedicated to Open
Source Software. The plan is to provide 2 paths of learning. One path
would be written for non technical users and the second path would be
written for technical users. I've also envisioned a third path, to be
added later, that would be written similar to the "Dummies" series of
books.

The Boy Scouts have a tremendously large pool of volunteers that they
will be able to draw from within their organization for the projects
that they host. However, I don't believe that they have the subject
matter knowledge necessary to build out the content for the Open Source
E-Learning section. The E-Learning section incorporates MediaWiki so
building out the content should be pretty straight forward.

The priority that I need to address at the moment is putting together a
team, project lead, layout and structure design team, and content
writers. If anyone would be interested in heading up this project, and
has the spare time, please let me know. The Boy Scouts will provide a
Project Manager, but we need someone that can lead the team and act as
the primary SME and content designer. I'm think this role would mostly
involve guiding the direction and reviewing the results. The time
requirements should not be major once you've decided on the initial plan
and direction to take.

TIA,
