[NTLUG:Discuss] Abiword, Inkscape, Koffice

I rather like OO.o if only because it's very platform independent.
Being able to run OO.o on Mac, on Windows and Linux makes doing some
kinds of work rather nice.

Abiword really looked like MS Word. Koffice I have no idea about... I
don't like KDE for one really stupid reason -- I don't like the way it
feels... okay, more than one stupid reason... I also don't like that
everything has a K in front of it. Koffice? Come on! Makes me think
of someone checking me for a hernia or something.

I've never really used OO Draw and that's for a few reasons:
1. It doesn't get played with as my distro is Fedora and they don't even
make a shortcut, icon or menu item for it. (It is available though... I
just opened it from the command line)
2. It seems really simplistic and I'm not sure where a simple drawing
fits into my work at the moment. (Perhaps that will change tomorrow?)
3. For anything graphical, I usually head for the gimp. Even though
it's generally over-kill for simple stuff, I can usually polish up some
nice lookin' turds with it!

I'm not sure why those things were actually "pulled" from the distros
you use, but all of those packages listed are available in Fedora 8.
(Just tested that as I was composing this email and now I'm going to try
Inkscape out...first time!)
