Hi Rick.

Need more info.

In regards to the 'define', where? SuSE seems to have several m4 config
files in use, so I am a little confused as to which one I should (or can
safely!) modify. Normally, in SuSE you specify the values to go in
stuff in /etc/sysconfig (especially /etc/sysconfig/sendmail). Your
solution seems to be Sendmail generic rather than SuSE specific, which
is why I have been reluctant to try it (I did trip across it in my
research -- but no word on which file to modify to get SuSEConfig to
pick up on it, or not clobber it). Although if no better option
surfaces, I will start experimenting with this one.

Note: SuSE can get a little funny if you start trying to compile stuff
yourself, rather than setting its Vars and using its config tools. So
this is a place where extreme caution is warranted.

(Btw, I was googling "SuSE sendmail smart_host port", among other
things...).

I'm hoping for a response from one of the SuSE/Sendmail knowledgeable
guys on the list on this issue.

Regards & Thanks,
Steve
