It's CentOS 4.5.  Now I'm wondering if I'm not alone in my 
dis-satisfaction.  Happened to check the fstab on CentOS 5, it looks 
normal.  fstab-sync isn't installed (and I didn't make any conscious 
effort to not install it).  Maybe Red Hat became dis-enchanted with it.
