Not trying to hi-jack the thread or anything, but does any one know a 
utility that lets you monitor usb transfer speeds. I have some external 
drives and sometimes the writes seem slow even though I'm plugged into 
the 2.0 port, and the cable is 2.0. lsusb confirms the port is 2.0 but 
I'd like to see a mb/s or something so I could be sure.
