Any Linux NIS+ guru's about?

I'm trying to get a Linux box (CentOS 3, RH EL3) to bind to a
Solaris 8 NIS+ server, but not having much luck.

Found and installed the following packages on the systems:

		nis-utils-1.4
		pam_unix2-1.30

After "successfully" binding to the NIS+ server (meaning, I
actually get a /etc/.rootkey file created), I'm unable to
successfully use niscat(1m) to cat the passwd.org_dir table, or
any other.

nisls(1m) occasionally works, occasionaly not (returning either
nothing or "NIS+ servers unreachable")

HELP!

Thanks,

	Eric
