From my experience a wireless bridge is used for connecting two or more
network segments separated physically. Basically, it has no settings in
it other than just the wireless settings and maybe an IP for management
(I usually managed them via USB). Most modern WAPs have DHCP servers
and firewalls and a bunch of stuff not needed. It just connects 2 wired
networks over a wireless bridge. WAPs normally connects a wireless
device, not another network, to a network.
Some WAPs can be used as bridges, but most of the ones I have tried
lately have not worked the way I want. I have had better luck using a
Linux box.
