I have a Toshiba single layer and a Pioneer double layer EIDE based
drives. Both work fine with the 80 wire IDE cables. k9copy does well
with video DVD's and growisofs works well with data. I've had problems
compiling k3b so far.
My "ancient" Pentium II 333MHz machine has burned DVD's at 5.9x DVD
speed (that's 5.9 x 1.385MBytes/sec), so if you have an older machine
you can still burn DVD's. My burners all recommend Pentium III's with at
least a 600MHz processor minimum and a 2.0GHz or faster as optimum with
Windows XP. I'm running Slackware 10.1.... ;D
