[NTLUG:Discuss] C book recommendation?

I have been using perl as a hobby for a couple of years, a little
python, enough java realize I don't like it, way before that... pascal
:)

I suppose the motivation is to make some cvs commits to some
open-source projects, or potentially start my own.
I realize that some are of the opinion that C should be reserved for
kernel programming, device drivers, and other low level stuff, but I
feel that I really should know C if I am ever to become a serious
programmer.
