AFAIK, Socket F is different from AM2... so next gen AMD will be
yet another socket (feel free to correct that remark if wrong).

Oh yes.. certainly. I'm just thinking that if DDR2 is significantly
cheaper, and the mb's for AM2 become cheaper, that an AM2 soln
might be cheaper than a 940 (maybe). Since Intel also uses DDR2,
DDR2 pricing may be a factor in decision making.
An Intel soln will likely be competitive (price wise) though.. and I'm
not sure if AMD will survive very well in this latest price war.
We'll have to wait and see..
