Unique things are the way you construct a virtual network of hosts.
You can have totally private LANs, bridged or NAT'd. Also of interest
are the record/playback video captures you can now do with VMware.
Great for putting together a demo video.
Also there is remote command capability (to shutdown and I think
startup). That used to be a GSX only feature. Not sure what all
is supported by just the player... I wouldn't be surprise if most
of it is there too (VMware is certainly scorching the earth as
much as possible lately).
At the fair I will be showing a VMware scenario showing off
single sign on, etc in a mixed Windows/Unix/Linux situation.
(at least... I'm planning on doing this)
If somebody has ESX Server (I have it), one could show
the performance improvement of running VMware's proprietary
kernel and the ability to float machines LIVE from host
to host (but that's probably not all that Linux centric).
