[NTLUG:Discuss] Assistance in Mesquite

Folks:

Don't know of another way to find out this info, so excuse me if this
post does not belong here.

I'm in Florida, and my mom (71 years old) lives in Mesquite. I'm giving
her my computer for Christmas (Debian unstable). I'm flying in on Friday
to deliver and set it up, and I don't anticipate problems in that area.
However, if something goes wrong when I leave that I can't handle over
the phone with her, I'm concerned about someone close being able to
support her.

At our LUG here, we have a program where people sign up and get their
names added to a webpage that advertises them as offering this kind of
service ( http://www.suncoastlug.org/helpers.html ). I'm not aware of
anything like this in the Dallas area, so my question is whether you
folks know of anyone who can or does offer this type of service?

There's probably a "Geek Squad" type place there, but I don't know how
much they know about Linux. So that's why I'm asking you folks.

Any information would be helpful, and you may feel free to reply
offlist, if you prefer.

Paul
