I installed and ran FC4, 3, 2, 1 on my HP Pavilion N5290 laptop. They
worked fine.
SuSE 9.3 was on the HP but I had a memory socket fail so my memory was
cut in half. FC4 seemed to offer an excellent set of programming
software and possibly lower memory demands. FC4 turned out to be no
faster than SuSE 9.3 so I went back to SuSE.

FC4 should be a fine choice if you need to be on the leading edge of
releases or if you haven't been spoiled by SuSE. SuSE is a trailing
edge release, I also ran FC4 on a couple of desktops before
standardizing on SuSE 9.3.

The only distro I had trouble with on the HP Pavilion N5290 was
Ubuntu. It could not see my network adapter. There is a work-a-round
for this but I wasn't that interested in Ubuntu.

Thanks, Robert
