[NTLUG:Discuss] Zipit device

Has anyone here tried the Zipit device?  I saw it mentioned in Linux
Magazine, and it looks nifty.  Reflashing it to be a linux terminal
sounds fun, but I'm not sure about the difficulty level and the
requirements.  The only websites I've seen about it say you need a
Windows PC to reflash it.  I don't have one.  Has anyone here reflashed
the Zipit without using a Windows PC?

I could definitely see myself wirelessly doing email, reading ebooks,
and (text)-surfing the web on this thing!  Does anyone have suggestions
for similar linux-friendly devices?
