Actually, I was trying to do the opposite. I was saying that most
everyone I know of (i.e., 2nd hand knowledge here) says Mandrake 9 on-
ward is quite good.
My limited Mandrake deployment after the original 5.3 was 6.0 - 8.1, and
I ran into installer-time issues (although I could often work around
them). Installers are _not_ a good test of a distro's capabilities,
since they are 0% usage.

Again, installation is not using Linux, so it's a poor test of a distro.
I know many people quite satisfied with Mandrake.
I'm looking forward to the Mandriva and am already playing with SmartPM
for Fedora Core and Red Hat Enterprise Linux configuration management.
