[NTLUG:Discuss] SWAP

During boot up, if there is an entry in /etc/fstab for a partition of swap,
it will automatically be mounted and enabled.

The swapon command allows you to manually enable a swap partition after
boot.

If you create it with fdisk, remember to change the partition type from the
default (0x83) to Linux Swap/Solaris (0x82).

The two distros should cheerfully share the swap space if it's defined in
both /etc/fstab files.

Subject: [NTLUG:Discuss] SWAP

Just created a dual distro setup (FC3 and SuSE9.2) on a hard disk manually
and forgot to create a swap partition. If i go back and do so, will it be
used? How does Linux detect and use the swap partition?
