You are correct here, jgarzik was discussing this yesterday in fact.  He is
interested in doing the SAS+SATA driver for some of the hardware coming
out, but there has been no movement yet.   There was also some discussin
over the expectation that in the next couple of years most SATA hardware
will likely be SAS+SATA.

Sadly, I have not seen any out there just yet either.   I think PCI Express
is your best bet at the moment, and there are a few options there.
