Actually, it is known issue on the vast majority of KVMs and especially
with mixed OS's and levels of Linux. For example a set of all
2.6 kernel x.org Linux's probably will have no problems... switch
to an older 2.4 kernel Linux or even older Xfree86 or Windows and
the problem will (loss of synchronization) will occur.
If you see this on a newer dist (e.g. SUSE 9.3), just move
the mouse VERY gently and synchronzation should (emphasis on
should) regain.
But... I find myself doing the psmouse.proto trick for safety
sake.
