I just set up printing to a windows Laser yesterday on Suse 9.2. You will need
Samba with Wins server and Wins support set up in your global file. When this
is completed goto the Print Manager and Add a printer. Look for the Samba
shared windows printer in the toggle list. After this you will enter the
workgroup/domain name and the Server name that has the printer connected to
it. Run a scan and it should pull the printer. The rest of the wizard walks
you through the set up, i.e. driver choices and test page. On NT systems you
will need to set up Authentication if your are using passwords in your
network or as a guest if you are not and guest = yes is set up in your
samba.conf file.
If you need help with Samba let me know. I use the KISS method, "Keep it
simple stupid!" ha, but it does work and work well.
PS if you are using XP Home on the printer share, note that XP Home is not
friendly with networking and that will throw a kink in the process. Some may
know how to get it done with XP Home, but my KISS method won't work!
