[NTLUG:Discuss] Open Office Formulas -- not showing on screen

I am having a problem with Open Office formulas under Linux not showing
up on screen. Instead, I get a field with notation such as "Object7" in
the place of a formula. The document (.sxw type) prints properly, but is
hard to edit on screen. When I originally created the document, it
viewed properly. But after I saved the document and quit OO, the new
undesirable behavior started.By selecting and then double clicking on
the field with a formula graphic -- such as the "Object7" above -- the
formula editor kicks in and the formula is visible, until I click in the
main document editor. The formula is then replaced with the "Object7"
display.

How do I fix the problem?
