I also have a Belkin 8 port.  I presently have SuSE 9.1, RedHat9, FC3, 
FreeBSD 5.1, Windows XP Home, Win2K Pro, and Mac 10.3 on it and have 
had zero issues with any aspect of it.  I do have USB from a couple of 
the machines to the switch, but my mouse and keyboard are PS2 from the 
switch.  As always YMMV, but I thought I would add my useless input.
