Embedded Software Engineer - Contract to hire.

 

Location : Dallas

 

Salary : $40-45/ hourly

 

This position involves embedded real-time software development for wireless
communication products. Job Responsibilities: This person will be
responsible for the design, development, documentation, and testing of the
embedded real-time software components for various wireless communications
devices. These duties include the use of development tools such as cross
compiler tool chains, configuration management tools, bug tracking tools,
and performance analysis tools. These duties include the use of debugging
tools such as logic analyzers, emulators, and data monitors to characterize
and verify operation.

 

Required Skills:  The Embedded Software Engineer needs to have the following
technical skills: 

 

Solid understanding of software development tools for embedded processors.
Need contemporary software engineering skills and knowledge and application
of effective processes throughout the software development cycle.

 

C / C++ programming experience;

 

Knowledge of low level device drivers;

 

Knowledge about memory management, reentrance issues, message queues,
semaphores and other issues pertinent to real time software design, power
management techniques, common bus structures, and some assembly language;

 

An understanding of both the practical and theoretical aspects of real-time
embedded design including priority assignment algorithms, scheduling
algorithms, data structures, sorting techniques and searching techniques.  

 

Must be able to handle multiple tasks have strong communication skills and
work in a multidisciplinary team environment are essential.

 

Experience with logic analyzers, emulators, and data monitors

 

Other Skills:  The following skills will distinguish a candidate:

Networking Communications,  Linux / UNIX experience, TCL/TK,  Intel
Processors X86, 8051

 

Qualification Requirements:  BS (MS preferred) in computer science or
computer engineering with at least 5 years of designing and testing embedded
software applications experience in C or C++ targeting custom hardware.
