Thanks for all the help.
I am ending my request for help on this thread.

There were two goals for me:
1. Setup up a dual disk-boot for Linux and Windows which would keep my
several years old Windows installation intact.
2. Test the Recovery from dual boot to Windows single boot.

Goal 1 solution:
I re-installed the dual disk-boot with SuSE and Win2K. I am very happy.
Goal 2 solution:
The Recovery to Win2K has been tested twice by me with disastrous
results each time. GRUB has done something to the CMOS in both of the
multi-boot systems I have tried. I haven't been able to configure out
What?
Recovery should be just as easy as installation.

I am very un-impressed by IDE. I believe a RAID controller, preferably
a good one, is the way to go.

I loved the raw power of Debian. You can do anything with Debian if
you have the time and inclination.
I like Fedora Core 3. If I can just find out why the kernel updates
stopped working? Fedora Core 2 was the best, most stable release, for
me, since Red Hat 9. I sent an email about this.

Thanks,

Robert
