[NTLUG:Discuss] Remote Desktop Connection

I need some expert advice.

I want to setup a linux box on our company's intranet
that will be a gateway for me to use to have a remote
desktop connection to servers and workstations on the
other side of the gateway.

I want to be able to require the users to have some
sort of authentication before it will allow them
through.

In addition,  I would like to be able to connect to
these servers from home using the company's VPN
connection.  The VPN connection will only allow port
80 through the firewall.
