Yeah - I've been using those in (literally) hundreds of
Linux machines over the past year or more.

There is nothing inherently wrong with it - except that
you'll want to install the nVidia drivers (which are closed-source).

I guess the problems you're having are to do with your installer.

However, installing the nVidia drivers is a snap *if* you don't
mind the closed source driver business.
