Of course you weren't. The juxtaposition of the RHCE after your name
and your comments on the RHCE struck me as funny (ha ha, not strange).
It's human nature: we all think the ordeals we have endured mark true
excellence. Very often they do just that, as in the case of my
comprehensive exams and, as you say, the RHCE. But we would believe
they were signs of excellence even if they weren't, so long as we had
suffered enough undergoing them ourselves. So far as I can tell that's
the main reason medical doctors still put their apprentices through
ludicrously counter-productive weeks and months of sleep deprivation:
because *they* all went through the same ordeal themselves.
I wasn't trying to single you out: that's why I mentioned my own exams.
I'm sorry I didn't write in a less ambiguous way... I guess I should
have added more than a simple ':)'.
