I do a lot of that stuff with send mail (I think IMAP would work as well but I 
only use pop).  My configuration authenticates relayed mail using SASL and 
works pretty well.  I know this is not the approved propeller head way to 
configure sendmail, but I use WEBMIN to do it.   I also use it to configure 
Openwebmail, Spamassassin and Procmail.  My notes for the mailserver part of
